You will get to explore mankind's closest relatives in their natural habitat taking breathtaking nature walks in ancient tropical rainforests, enjoying majestic scenic views of crater lakes in the Albertine Rift Valley while enjoying beautiful bird songs from some of the world's rarest birds. You will get to see the Endangered Mountain gorilla in UNESCO's world heritage site; the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Your itinerary
This tour starts and ends in Uganda's buzzy capital Kampala covering 2 of the world's most ecologically rich rainforests and Uganda's most popular National Park - Queen Elizabeth National Park. An airport pick up and drop off may be arranged.
Day 1:
Transfer from Kampala to Kibale forest (6 hours) (380 km) This tour starts with a pick up from your hotel by your guide for an early morning transfer to the resplendent Kibale Forest. You will drive 5-6 hours through the countryside districts of Mityana, Mubende and Kyegegwa some 380 km from Kampala to reach your lodge just in time for lunch. You'll settle in at Kibale Forest Camp and later enjoy sleeping while listening to the distant sounds from the tropical rainforest of Nightjars, monkeys and other nocturnal animals.

Day 2:
Early in the morning your guide will pick you from the hotel to start with the 4-hour chimp walk – during which you will get to see a number of primates including the uncommon L'Hoest's monkey, the Red Colobus monkey, Black & White Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys and many more. Kibale National Park is also known for a range of species of butterflies and birds including several Albertine rift endemics. You will then go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland, a biodiversity mosaic of beautiful scenery, colorful songbirds and a number of primate species. The sanctuary is a community project whose proceeds benefit community projects.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning after breakfast, you will take a 3-hour drive to Elephant plains Lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park about 157 km away. You will settle in at your lodge and relax before having lunch and heading off for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel.

Transfer to Bwindi IFNP (Buhoma)
On Day 4, your guide will pick you up early in the morning after breakfast to be transferred to the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Once settled in, you may go for the Batwa cultural experience to learn more about the history and heritage of the forest people - the indigenous people of the East African region.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking
Day 5 is the D-day for rousing gorilla trekking. Early morning after a generous breakfast to prepare the body, your guide will take you for a briefing at the UWA center before kicking-off tracking the gentle-giant gorillas. Tracking may last between one and six hours and groups can only be with gorillas for one hour. Gorilla tracking can be a rigorous activity and may require visitors to be in good physical shape. Once the tracking is done, there are opportunities for community walk, basket weaving and other activities at the visitors' discretion.

Day 6: Back to the city
On Day 6, you will have an early breakfast before a 9-hour drive back to Kampala. On your way to Kampala, you will have a stop at Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch and a museum tour. On reaching Masaka, there will be an opportunity to stop at the Equator in Masaka for photo shoots and buy souvenirs, crafts and a cup of tea or coffee.
